CorsetTraining.net is finally getting a complete revamp!
This is where you can keep up to date with all the new developments as the brand new Corset Training website comes together. All my screen shots & updates on the new features will appear here and on my My Facebook page so watch this space!
I’m totally scrapping the current site and rebuilding it! The new website will be bigger, easier to use and more beautiful than ever! I’m so excited to let you at it but there’s still a bit of work to do. It will go live end of March but before everything is finalised I want to ask you a very important question. Can you help me out?
The question is what would you like to see on the new website? I’m building it for you to use so what would you like to see when you come to CorsetTraining.net? Please leave a comment below telling me, that would be incredibly awesome!
First Preview of the New Gallery Page!
New Corset Making Gallery Preview
For years I’ve been trying to get a decent gallery to work on my website, it should be as easy as pie right? You’d think, but I can’t make pie either. Now we have a shiny new gallery! Or will do very soon! Woo! The functionality is just being tweaked, but then I can put in all the lovely photos you’ve sent me of you corsets alongside my own. It’ll be fabulous! If you have photos you want in the gallery contact me at corsettraining[at]gmail.com. Want a link to your blog, Facebook or website included? No problem! 🙂
Don’t forget to let me know below what you think and what you personally would like to see on the site or would find useful.
I love the new webpage! i think what people have suggested are great ideas but as far as the layout, maybe make the top link bar (going horizontally across the page) a different color then gray or the words different colors so it stands out. honestly didnt even notice it! I think if you break down videos still keep a full clip; i think gallery should be along the top bar (advertise yourself/website easily, some people go straight to photos to see the degree of seriousness); and similar to a blog, a link-set timeline order for things for easier category search, like for tutorials (kind of like a go here next –> option both on the tutorial and as a link set)
I love your course. I would like to make a corset for my daughter who is size 22 fashionable but comfortable. Thank you for your help.
OOOHH!! This is shaping up so well! I’m definitely going to have to revamp my site too!
So for your site, I don’t know if you plan to do more blogging, but I love a good blog section with little tips and tricks- and something super searchable, like make sure to have tags/labels on the pages so you can scroll through a topic like “tutorials” or “inspiration” really easily.
I also love when you can see projects that people have done with your patterns, so you could have a section that is more interactive, where you can have a gallery of makes. It’s inspiring to see what people do with your pattern, and it’s also like a bunch of reviews of the pattern that you can see all at once and give you ideas for what you would do with the patterns. (I kind of do this with the Bra-A-Week Challenge but not specifically for any one pattern, but companies like Indie Sew do it and I think it’s fabulous).
I think it’s also super important that you have easy links to all of your other social media from your homepage, maybe just at the bottom of your page – in case people like to follow on instagram/facebook/twitter or anywhere else more, and of course a sign up for your newsletter!
Hope all those helped- I’ll keep thinking about it! It’s going to be great!!!!
detailed demonstrations on how to put in the boning so it is ‘perfect’ and not a bit wiggly.
Tips & tricks.. such as how to get the perfect gore, or zipper, or binding corners… little things that help us hone in on our skills 🙂
Just here to second Hazel’s first suggestion. A column of links to instructions, perhaps as craftsy organizes their class descriptions?
Two things I would like to see if possible, instructions by task/chapter, so instead of having to go through a video to find the exact section for the technique I want, each segment is separate. On a more personal note, I have now had a single mastectomy so most of the corsets I have made are no longer wearable. I would like some style ideas that give more options/styles to enable women who use a prosthesis [or a pair of prostheses] to wear corsets [and not just under bust ones] so styling that gives more coverage on one side or styling that raises the topline, also the option to fit ‘pockets’ to corsets.
Hi Scarlet
How about A training plan. A Log book to record ones hours of training and recommended degree of reduction. A link to ‘perceived effort’ in training. Where should one comfortably aim for on the ‘perceived effort’ scale, for best results. This would be for training down to a smaller waist.
How to prevent skin problems when trying tight lacing. The advantage of a lacing Buddy to help one stick to ones resolution to reduce your waist size. Or do you just want to make a fashion statement?

Hi Scarlett!
I would LOVE to see a section dedicated to larger women’s corsets. our needs are not the same as an average figure’s–perhaps some way to make the backing panel slide under the lacing a bit tighter/more neatly so we dont get “wrinkles”; side laces or front laces so we can do up our own corsets. (with bigger arms comes the likelihood of arms not going behind us to do up the lacing). i did see you now have the pooch cover that curves over a tummy (YAY) and some re-tooling of the back to cover the back fat would be kind of awesome, and would help keep the corset from pinching. Yes I’m picky, but I am thinking of my own corsets and the problems I have had with them.
This is going to be gorgeous! I love seeing the corsets, and I had every intention of making one (or more!) for myself, however in recent years I have found that although I could do this, and I could get a good fit, I’m reaching a stage where I can’t get past the effects of age and find that every similar design I try on leaves me with, um, areas I would rather cover? 😀
I would love to see variations on corsets, etc., that make them more wearable for me, so that I can carry on with my ambition and not feel that it was an opportunity that passed me by.
So perhaps you could extend your ideas and designs – a new fashion line? That would be awesome 🙂
