A quick note about sewing boning channels; when sewing channels, stick to one direction!

Changing direction can result in a slight rucking up or wrinkling of the fabric around your stitching. So if you sew one side of the channel from top to bottom, then you need to sew the other side of it from top to bottom – the sewing will smooth the fabric out as you push it through the machine, it needs to be smoothed in the same direction to avoid wrinkles – the same goes for double boning channels that sit next to each other, they both need to be sewn in the same direction when making a corset. A ‘must remember’ for those of you just learning how to make a corset for the first time, it’ll give your first corset that professional touch 🙂
