A few people have asked when I started corset making, well I learnt how to make a corset around 2007 (I think), my first corset was made from one of my mothers old waistcoats! I took photos of it in 2009 at a shoot I did with some photography friends. So here is a young me in my very first self-made corset!

The corset pattern was pretty basic, I used the duct tape corset designing method I mentioned in my last post then modified the panels a little. Its rather wrinkly because I was new to corset making and it wasn’t pulled very tight like a corset training corset would be, but still a valiant first attempt. I’d only previously sewn purses and very very basic skirts as well as altered a few garments.
